Bridgestone Tyres UK

We were approaced by a design and branding agency already working with Bridgestone Tyres, to provide a website to help supplement a major 2 year releaunch of their retread tyres. The site was launched in December 2010  and is fronted by a video announcement by the Bridgestone Managing Directer, John Mccnaught. As well as ensuring we adhered to strict corporate branding guidelines, we delivered a slick “tyre finder” module as well as integrating Mail Chimp to create a monthly E-Shot, outlining the latest news of the relaunch.

Digital Unite

Digital Unite were one of our founding customers and we have built many websites supporting their various projects including their company website. Throughout 2010 we built some enhancements to their nationally recognised Silver Surfers programme website and more recently we designed and developed a new site to support their Get Digital programme.

Master Gardeners

The Master Gardener programme is a national initiative delivered by the UK’s largest organic charity, Garden Organic. Sponsored by the Big Lottery Fund, the project aims to encourage people to grow their own food and does this by identifying “master gardeners” to help inspire others to join in. The Ruralnet Futures team worked closely with Philip Turvil the Master Gardener project manager and despite challenging deadlines, the team came up with an inspiring and effective programme website. The site has a number of “sub-sites” which represent new local authorities as they join the programme and also integrates Google Docs behind a login allowing the master gardeners to track their activities.

LEADER

We are very closely involved with the LEADER programme. LEADER is an EU funded initiative which provides grants to rural projects within Europe. Central Warwickshire was awarded £1.6 million to make innovative projects happen and the programme is now accepting Expressions Of Interest. The LEADER programme lasts for three years and you can find out more details from their website

European Commission

Project RURENER is funded by the Intelligent Energy Agency and its aim is to identify rural communities and help them deliver local sustainable energy solutions. Ruralnet Futures are the UK partner and form part of the monitoring board. We specialise in the knowledge dissemination and have delievered the programme website with WordPress Multi-User. WordPress is particuarly appropriate for this client as we have simply created multiple sub-domains to represent the different country sites in their own language and we are in the process of implementing a dynamic, multilingual question and answer service.

Efficient 20

Another project commissioned by the European Union worth €1.6m. The project aims to introduce and manage 300 pilot farms throughout 10 countries in Europe, and achieve 20% in fuel savings by farming more efficiently. Ruralnet Futures are responsible for building the EU wide database which will track the pilot data as it is generated, the design and development of the multilingual website and also the coordination of 60 pilots within the UK. The programme website wil be available soon and we aim to have our pilot farms identified and confirmed by the end of October 2010. We are delighted that Harper Adams University College have recently joined the programme as associate members.

Shape Your Place

Working with Cambridgeshire County Council this website is designed to improve online community engagement bewteen the residents (who are often not native English speakers) and the Local Authority. Using Google translation modules we created a website that utilises all the benefits associated with Web 2.0 in terms of sophisticated RSS feeds, pulling in content from other sources such as Flickr and Youtube, but also a site that can be switched into any one of 5 languages at the touch of a button.

Unlocking Warwick

Unlocking Warwick

The Unlocking Warwick project is hoping to secure some funding through an application to the Herritage Lottery Fund to help redevelop the towns Court House. The website has been designed to outline the projects objectives and also to obtain as much support as possible from residents and interested parties to supplement the final application. We have implemented a neat “petition” plugin which allows visitors to the site to show their support and write a short comment. As each new supporter is logged and moderated the homepage shows a counter of how many people have written a comment.

Get Digital

Get Digital

This website is a sophisticated implemention which outlines the Get Digital programme objectives, one of Digital Unites most recent projects. As beneficiaries of the programme are identified their details are captured automatically on an integrated Google Map. This is an effective way in which project goals can be outlined and illustrated in an ineractive manner. It is also a very good example of how muliple users with different requirements have access to different areas of the site through their unique login.

Kodokan Pro

The Kodokan Pro website is our first to support an iPhone application. The app outlines the entire Judo dictionary with supporting video material. We have implemented a Google translation module to the site supporting six languages and the app has now been sold in over 15 countries in its first 2 months of being released.
